Categories of Motorhomes

Recreational Vehicles or RVs as most of us would call them come in different categories. They offer a means of transport as well as accommodation. There are some that are small enough yet fitted with the basic necessities to offer a comfortable stay outdoors whereas others are large vehicles that are fully customized to fit all the necessities of a typical town apartment, thus the name motorhomes. Broadly, RVs are spitted into two major categories; The Motorized RVs or Towable RVs. These are further subdivided into three classes’ i.e. Class A, Class B and Class C motorhomes.
                                                                                                         Class A Motorhome

 Class A motorhomes are the crème de la crème of the RV world. They come in large units ranging between 15,000 to 30,000 pounds in weight and stretch a length of about 30 to 40 feet. They come with custom designs and feature each and every single unit of a home. A kitchen for cooking, refrigerator, a fully equipped state of the art lounge, deluxe bedrooms, self-contained washrooms not forgetting the ad-ons like heating units and the air conditioners, a backup generator…this list is endless!. Of course these “moving homes” don’t come cheap thus you will find them most often parked at the backyard of  the privileged few.

                                                              Class B Motorhome
Next on the list is the Class B motorhomes also known as Camping Van Conversions and are smallest of the RVs. They are designed from customizing of the typical van usually with no modifications to the chassis. They are relatively light in weight and fall in between 6,000 to 8,000 pounds. These models encompass exquisite floor plans with great consideration to space thus unique in their own way. Combined with their versatility, ease of cruising economical value, Class B motorhomes are for everyone!

                                                              Class C Motorhome

The Class C motorhomes are rather quite a smaller version of the class A motorhomes ranging in between 10,000 to 12,000 pounds in weight. They are designed from a 20 to 31 feet van chassis usually with an elongation above the driver’s cabin converting to a sleeping bunk. They come with all the necessities of a typical apartment but just of a lower quality compared to their Class A counterparts. Most people like them because of their relatively large space, the ease of driving and their maintenance cost.
